High-Demand/High-Control Relationships
Helping the exploited reclaim their power.
High-demand/high-control (HD/HC) dynamics are not just found in cults and extremist religious groups. They are also present in abusive relationships, violent political factions, urban gangs, and can occur between romantic partners, boss and employee, friends, or a parent and child. High-demand/high-control relationships are all about control. If you suspect you are being controlled, “gaslighted” (when someone tries to convince you that you’re “crazy” or “paranoid” when you question their authority) or know you are not able to leave, you may be in a high-demand/high-control situation. There are many online resources for you, including the Crisis Text Line, which has a variety of resources here: https://www.crisistextline.org/resources/
As a survivor of cult brainwashing, I understand and am here to support your journey back to self-confidence and your own, sovereign truth. Remember, at any time you can go to the nearest police station, hospital or emergency room if you feel you are in danger physically or mentally due to an HD/HC situation.
Check out these two articles featuring “gaslighting” examples that should put you on alert:

There is no shame in having explored an HD/HC circumstance, and it is okay to need help refocusing on your health and balance. I am living proof there is life after high-demand/high-control experiences. Confidentiality for HD/HC—and all clients—is assured within the limits of the law. You are safe to be yourself here.
I choose to create Light on behalf
of all living things, that all may be free.
May those in hiding find freedom, and safe passage.
And may those in confusion find clarity,
and a new beginning.
